What is Dungeons and Dragons?
Dungeons and Dragons is a Table-Top Roleplaying Game powered by dice rolls and imagination. It focuses on teamwork, creativity and strategy.
Players can choose from many different options to create their own unique character – whether they want to play an elf magic user, a human swordsman, or a goblin thief, the options allow players to be whoever they want to be.
The game is usually led by one person, called a Dungeon Master or Game Master. This person guides them through the story, describing places, and roleplaying different people and monsters the adventurers may meet on their journey. They also help players with the rules.
The adventures are a collaboration between players and Game Master, and can take place in many different settings, from fantasy to science fiction.
The game can also be adapted to suit each player’s needs so that it is accessible for all. Many games involve visual aids like maps, miniature figures, and models of areas and enemies to help players visualise the game alongside the storytelling.
